Amy and Doug’s wedding was this past November, and I can’t believe I haven’t blogged it yet! We had a peaceful and low key afternoon of getting ready with Amy and her family in the Club’s foyer with a cozy fireplace, and then did their first look and portraits around the property. With no wedding party, we were able take our time and utilize the beautiful pre-golden hour light and get some awesome portraits by the lake and with the cat tails.
Amy’s Brother in Law, Andrew, officiated their ceremony, and he made it incredible and fun. Andrew highlighted how Doug proposed to Amy on the High Roller in Vegas, and how excited everyone was to see them in this next chapter together. After their ceremony everyone filed into an awesome cocktail hour, complete with a Gyro bar (!!). Amy and Doug specifically mentioned to me how excited they were for the food – it was their favorite part of planning.
We headed into their candlelight reception. My favorite part about Indian Trail Club (okay, I have a lot of favorite parts about this venue but this is one of my favorite things) is that this place is RIDDLED with fireplaces which makes for the coziest fall-winter-early spring atmosphere. Pair this with a million candles and some moody florals..*chefs kiss*. The couple entered their reception to so many cheers and shared an emotional first dance, closely followed by opening the dance floor by cutting maybe one of the most appetizing looking chocolate cakes I have ever seen, just behind the Bruce Bogtrotter-Matilda Cake™.
