Lisa and Dan. These two!! They are some of my favorite people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Over two years ago, Lisa and Dan won an engagement session from a contest I was running. They are so kind and welcoming and make you feel like you’ve been friends forever. Separately, they are both hilarious. Together, they might be the funniest people I have ever met.
Their wedding day was nothing short of an absolute blast. From Lisa barreling down the hallway towards me when she arrived at the venue, to the reveal of Dressica (Dan’s name for Lisa’s dress, which I only hear in the voice of Rob Schneider in The Hot Chick saying, “ITS MEEEE….JESSSICAAAAA”), to the sweetest Ketubah signing, to Lisa throwing herself into the crowd to Mr Brightside at the end of the night.
I showed up to Bonnet Island about an hour early – it’s been a while since I’ve been to this venue, and I love every inch of it. We were being threatened with a storm, and even though LBI weather has rarely let me down, I wanted to be prepared in case we had to change our plans. Lisa arrived with her bridesmaids and family and finished getting ready while Dan played chess with the groomsfolks downstairs. We headed out to the arbor outside where Dan was introduced to Dressica for the first time (and Lisa might have cried a little). The clouds cleared (See? LBI never lets me down) and we explored the grounds and beach grass nooks. Ketubah followed, and oh man, the feels – I’m not sure there was a single dry eye in the room, and it didn’t stop for their ceremony, either. Their reception was a PARTY. A dangerously fun hora, Lisa throwing herself into the crowd, and then sending the night off with some Karaoke.
