This was the summer of California. I went out west three times in 6 weeks. It was tiring, but it was incredible. I love it out there and I love photographing out there.
I met Erin and Guy back in January of 2019 on the volcanic cliffs of Maui for their engagement session. My old boss is one of Erin’s longtime family friends, and we all happened to be in Maui at the same time, so Melissa hooked us up. Erin and Guy were newly engaged, and so much fun to photograph with. They ended up booking me for their wedding in Lake Tahoe in 2020. 2020 came and went.
After a year of Erin’s dress hanging in her closet, I flew out to Lake Tahoe this past June to take some photos in honor of their second wedding date and original wedding location. We scaled some cliffs and took some of the most incredible photos. The west coast is nothing like New York, and I love it. I have never seen such stunning sunsets in my life. At one of the peaks before we started photographing, I had to take a moment and just take everything in.
In August, it was finally time to put the party shoes on and celebrate. It is so obvious that Erin and Guy are over the moon for each other. These two have been incredibly cool and collected throughout the entire process of planning THREE weddings, and their day was just all the good energy and total PARTY vibes. Photographing with them is so easy – they are so natural, and always laughing with each other.
They said their vows, and made promises about doing (or not doing) the dishes, under a massive oak tree at Del Rio Country Club, nearby where Erin grew up. Post-ceremony, they celebrated with their bridal party with mini patron shots (how frickin CUTE) and mini tacos – which got everyone loosened up just in time for sunset photos. Their reception was opened with entrances…and icing their bridal party (you GOTTA see these photos, SCROLL!!!) before partying hard into the night.
