Gina and Kyle!! I know I say this all the time, but I get to work with the coolest couples and I am so lucky. Gina has an outgoing and fun energy, and Kyle is calm and collected. These two were (ARE) incredibly chic and effortlessly easy to photograph and I had such a great time photographing with them. Not only were Gina and Kyle amazing, but I’ve been so excited to photograph at Hudson House – it’s a brand new, modern venue in Jersey City, with the most beautiful view of New York City. The space has so many cool nooks and crannies and the way shadows and light happen there is just really cool, so I was stoked at the opportunity to spread my wings.
I love kicking off the day with the high energy of a getting ready room; We arrived to Gina and her bridesmaids to some really, really fun vibes. We popped some champagne, got Gina into her dress, and headed off to Hudson House for their first look on the roof. The sun split the roof between shade and direct light – this is the BEST because we can get so many different kinds of photos from so many angles, so we really soaked up our time here with lots of portraits!
Kyle and Gina’s ceremony began right as the sun was starting to set, and they said their vows against the most beautiful cotton candy sunset. Talk about a frickin dream, you guys!! At the end of their ceremony, they were escorted into the bridal suite by a bagpiper where they celebrated with their bridal party before heading out into the night to celebrate with friends and family.
